With El Niño planning a winter of lots of snow, Lizard thoughts turn to back country ski adventures! The Mammoth area above Bishop, CA is one obvious end destination, but the local mountains of San Diego county also offer some of the finest back country skiing around... no lie! For an easy day trip, Penny Place off the Sunrise Highway offers easy access to miles of open and hilly terrain... The only problems are that you have to wait for a couple feet of snow and NEVER go on a weekend since the local traffic is crazy (all of San Diego)! Note: Chains may be required.
During the winter months the Lizards will post a "Winter White Flu Watch." At the first signs of a white flu epidemic, all Lizards will inform their employers of the infectious event and meet in a non-conspicuous location for a day in the snow... the only known cure. Multi-day cures may be required during the months of January and February. Note: The results of the last attack and cure have been posted.
Desert trips are also possibilities during the cooler months. Stay tuned for more information on the March (2nd week) Death Valley adventure! Favorites will also include Joshua Tree and the local deserts of San Diego county.
But what's your favorite spot? We love new and exciting locations! Send in your thoughts or random associations of information and let's plan another Lizard adventure!
Yip, yip, yip!
